SUPER SPA GETAWAY
Try this new retreat on the Chesapeake Bay. It's the perfect place to relax.
Travelers have come to expect nice hotels to offer spa services, and I'm no exception. That's why I'm always looking for - and - sampling new spas and the services they offer.
One of my favorites is a small facility located at Harour Inn in St. Michaels, Maryland. This 46-room, all-suite hotel and marina sits at the edge of the Chesapeake. It boasts two restaurants - one serving casual fare, the other a fine-dining establishment. The new spa rounds out their services.
The spa is tucked into a corner on the third floor of the inn. It's long and narrow, with just five treatment rooms. But what it lacks in space, it makes up for in personalized care.
Services range from custom facials to hot stone therapy, but the luxurious Wild Lime Scalp Massage ranks as the most requested. The therapist starts by massaging heated oil into the scalp and then follows that with a full body massage.
The Spa at Harbour Inn also gets my vote for best spa package. If you're looking for a great getaway, book a Pajama Party at the inn. You select your spa services, music, movies, and even the snack foods and drinks you want served in your suite. The folks at Harbour Inn do the rest. They'll even provide soft, cotton pj's for everyone at your party.

What's Up? Annapolis Article
I’ve always wanted to get a massage and facial. The closest thing I’ve ever had to a spa treatment was an eyebrow waxing. The opportunity to be treated to a day of pampering at St. Michaels Harbour Inn and Spa, owned by Bob Pascal, was an experience I looked forward to.
As I drove along Route 50, on my way to the Eastern Shore from Annapolis, I thought I heard a pop. Pulling to the side of the road, to my dismay I discovered a huge gash in my tire. “Perfect timing! I’m not going to make my appointment,” I thought. Not only was I not going to be able to get my scheduled facial and massage I was going to have to stand in the 95 degree weather waiting for a tow truck. As the beads of sweat ran down my face I worried that the closest I would get to a spa treatment that day was a natural sauna.
But my luck started to change when two good Samaritans offered to change my tire and I was back on the highway. When I pulled into the inn’s parking lot, I took a deep breath. I was ready to start my spa experience.
